This collection is expressing my personal experience in letting go and stepping into a new life, a new land.

We, as a family of 4, will celebrate our 10-year anniversary of leaving Germany and moving to California this June. Since art is my way to process and express myself this collection was born. There have been a lot of challenges for us on many levels, especially in the first 3 years. From obvious things like language problems to unexpected issues like previous education from Germany not being excepted — I could write a very long list. But that’s not the point.

I was scared to leave everything that I knew behind. Scared to leave my family and friends, to give up my beautiful house, to lose everything we worked so hard for.

There was also this other question: How would it be to start all over? How would it feel to write a new chapter and learn new things, and make new friends?

Even with all those questions and all of that fear in mind it was very clear that this was our way to go. We had faith and God made everything happen. We knew that wherever we went he would be with us and he will take care of us.

So here is my collection “Land Of Hopes And Dreams”.

The collection is inspired by my faith in God, my deep roots to the Black Forest area, and my transition into the beautiful California sun, where everything looks magical and everything is possible.
